Holding the Pre-meeting at Mrauk-U Hotel in Mrauk-U under the Theme of “Tourism Development at Cultural Heritage Site, Mrauk-U”

In order to more systematically develop in Mrauk-U, the main destination in Rakhine, the pre-meeting was held at Mrauk-U Hotel in Mrauk-U on 25th August, 2018 and attended Rakhine regional government, Minister of Finance, Custom, Planning, Commerce, the director and the officials of the directorate of Hotels and Tourism, regional administration groups and related officials, stakeholders, Cooperate Social Organizations, regional guides and community.

The minister said that Mrauk-U, cultural heritage site, is one of the places in Myanmar that can attract world travelers and local traveler with interesting cultural and historical heritages, rare ethnic groups, local handicrafts and the beautiful sceneries. Rakhine Regional government also stated that the government madebetter transportation, accommodation for tourists who come and visit historical and cultural heritage, Mrauk-U, and they are trying to be comfortable for tourists to feel safe.Then, the government needs the assistance from related governments, stakeholders,Cooperate Social Organizations and the community to develop the tourism in local community that will affect the local business and living standards of local community. With the help of International Labor Organization (ILO), “Tourism Value Chain Analysis” meeting was implemented in Mrauk-U region and as the result, the government found the facts for local tourism development. After that, the government has the plan to hold “Investment Forum” in Mrauk-U with the invitation of the officials from Ministries, the officials Regional and State governments and Inbound and Outbound Stakeholders to share the information more and more about Mrauk-U.

And then, the participants discussed about their related sectors and suggestions and the minister delivered the conclusion speech and concluded the meeting.
